About Us — How We Test Supplements

About Sci-Supplements

We exist because the supplement industry is built on hype, misleading claims, and underdosed formulas. Our mission: be the most scientifically honest supplement resource on the internet — every claim cited to peer-reviewed research, every recommendation evidence-based.

Who We Are

Sci-Supplements is an independent editorial publication. Our content is written and reviewed by professionals with backgrounds in sports nutrition, exercise science, and dietetics. We do not disclose individual team members’ personal information publicly — this is a common practice among editorial publications to protect staff privacy while maintaining full accountability through our institutional methodology and citation practices.

What we will tell you: every claim made on this site is referenced to a primary source — peer-reviewed clinical trials, systematic reviews, or meta-analyses from PubMed, Cochrane, or equivalent academic databases. We do not cite blogs, supplement brand marketing materials, or secondary sources as evidence.

Our Review Methodology

Every supplement reviewed on Sci-Supplements goes through a standardised 5-step evaluation process before publication.

01
Label transparency audit
We reject any product using proprietary blends. Full ingredient disclosure at specific doses is a non-negotiable requirement for a recommendation.
02
Clinical dosing verification
Every active ingredient is cross-referenced against published clinical trials. We verify that the dose matches what peer-reviewed research actually used — not what sounds impressive on a label.
03
Third-party testing check
We verify independent testing certifications: Informed Choice, NSF Certified for Sport, or Labdoor. Products without independent purity verification are flagged clearly.
04
Value analysis
We calculate cost per gram of active ingredient and compare across competing products to give you an honest value assessment.
05
Annual re-review
Formulas change. We re-review every recommended product annually and update ratings if ingredient quality, sourcing, or testing standards change.

📚 Our citation standards

All health and nutrition claims on Sci-Supplements are supported by citations to peer-reviewed research. We reference only: (1) PubMed-indexed clinical trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses; (2) Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews; (3) Peer-reviewed journals indexed in MEDLINE or EMBASE; (4) Official regulatory body positions (FDA, EFSA, NHS, NIH, WHO). We do not accept payment for citations and we never cite supplement brand marketing materials as scientific evidence. Sources are listed at the bottom of each article and link directly to the original research.

Editorial independence & affiliate disclosure

Sci-Supplements earns affiliate commissions on some product links — this is disclosed on every page and in our full Affiliate Disclosure. Affiliate relationships never influence our review outcomes, ratings, or citations. We regularly recommend products we have no affiliate relationship with, and we disclose when a product fails our standards. Our editorial content is produced independently of any commercial relationships.
